Implement, test and conduct evaluation of hazards at work sites to prevent harm to workers, property, the environment and the general public. Review specifications and monitor the use of safety equipment to ensure that proper features are present and that items conform to health and safety standards. Supply, operate or maintain personal protective equipment. Recommend corrective measures to be applied. Maintain all required environmental records and documentation and maintain logbooks of daily activities, including areas visited or activities performed. Assist in coordinating safety inspection. Communicate with workers to answer questions about safety procedures or any concerns they may have about the work environment. Conduct health or safety training programs and train workers in safety procedures. Conduct interviews to obtain information or evidence regarding violations of health, sanitation and safety regulations.
*Special wage rate: Work to be performed on DPRI-funded projects and projects covered by Davis Bacon, Service Contracts Act, and/or Executive Order 14206 will be paid no less than the indicated wage rate but may be paid more where special rates apply.
